Look, I'm really into the YouTube gig now. It's like the only gig I'll ever play so just look me up over there.

Actually, that should be my name. This guy doesn't "kill" frets; he brings them to life and makes them talk.

Politics don't sell

A song I threw together in like 5 minutes has done better on YouTube than "We're all scared". The new song is called "Music of the Heart". It's about a deaf friend.

Anyway, this got me thinking. Politics, in general, probably doesn't sell. Yeah, Pink has "Mr. President" and it's a great song, but come Nov. of 2008 the song will become as irrelevant as ... well ... as George W. Bush.

Music of the Heart

Well, I've decided to dabble in a little music...

I am no more a musician and I am a writer. I just like playing at "playing" the guitar. Rather than ruining somebody else's songs, I'll just make up my own and ruin them.

My first post on YouTube was a song that was inspired by Ben Franklin. In particular a quote of his concerning Freedom vs Security.

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Then I started thinking about the Patriot Act, and the whole "police state" thing. And then something someone said once. I can't remember if it was in a TV interview or if someone actually said it to me. I just remember the shock the words had on me.

"I'd rather give up a little freedom if it means my family will be safe and the country is secure." Funny thing is, the old Soviet Union was pretty "secure" too.

Anyway, I won't be posting that often here. I can't write a song a day! When I'm inspired and put something down, I'll try to post it, meanwhile you can find me at my other two blogs. Just follow the links.
